Indications of Metformin Hydrochloride Tablets:
Metformin Hydrochloride tablets are indicated as an adjunct to dietotherapy and exercise to improve glycemic control for patients with type II diabetes mellitus, especially for patients with obesity and hyperinsulinemia.
Metformin Hydrochloride tablets can not only lower blood glucose, but also may reduce weight and alleviate hyperinsulinemia.

They are especially applicable for patients who acquire poor treatment effect by adopting sulfonylureas. Comparing with single-drug therapy, a combination therapy with sulfonylureas, glucosidase inhibitors against small intestine, or TZD hypoglycemic agents has a better effect.

It is also applicable for the treatment of patients undergoing insulin therapy, thus reducing insulin dosage.
